UNC's Davis will return

As expected, UNC forward Ed Davis will return for this sophomore season.

The school released a statement Sunday, saying the sixth man wanted to end all of the speculation about his future.

"I love being a student at Carolina and playing with my teammates for Coach (Roy) Williams,'' Davis said in a prepared statement. "I'd like to play in the NBA someday, but my family and I don't think I'm ready to take that step. I'm glad this decision is behind me so I can focus on the rest of the school year and get ready to be a better player next season."

Davis averaged 6.7 points and 6.6 rebounds for the Tar Heels, who won their fifth NCAA championship on Monday.

Juniors Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington, who tested the NBA waters last summer before returning for one more season, have not announced their decisions yet.

Observer, that is a picture of Deon Thompson on the headline of the is article. See if you can find one of Ed Davis.

This paper gets worse by the day - I think when they had their layoffs they must have let all of the proof readers go. The number of errors on a daily basis is ridiculous for an "award winning" paper!

Guys, I think the picture of Thompson goes with the story below the picture. In THAT story, Thompson is a feature of the article.

Okay, the way the picture is positioned on the home page, it could go with either story, but on the Sports page, it's obviously attached to the story about Davis. Oops!

I'm glad UNC found room under the salary cap to keep Davis on the pay roll one more year.

The Observer should cease their English publication TODAY! They cater to illegal law breaking Mexicans! And they could hire the current idiot chief to be their head promo guy. Charlotte is dead. The old Charlotte is gone. I guess I could go to "The Voice of Black Charlotte" and sunscribe to The Charlotte Post. Or maybe I couls start "The Voice of White Charlotte" Nah...that would never be approved.
