No surprise - Wolfpack struggles against Miami

There is a reason N.C. State was the No. 12 seed for the ACC tournament.

It's been obvious all season in Raleigh, and today it's obvious in Charlotte. The Wolfpack averaged 68.4 points in ACC games -- last in the conference.

And in the first half of Thursday's first-round game against fifth-seeded Miami, the Wolfpack scored just 17 points to trail by seven at halftime.

It took 9 minutes, 25 seconds for N.C. State to score its first field goal ñ on a runner in the lane by Trevor Ferguson. Aside from freshman center J.J. Hickson, the entire Wolfpack team managed just six points in the first half.

Coach Sidney Lowe is wearing the red jacket that gained him fame as the Wolfpack won three games to reach the ACC finals a year ago. If that jacket held any magic, it's obviously long gone.

The wolfpack are sad. They could not win if their lives depended on it. Year after year after year of mediocrity - in every sport. I guess mediocrity would have been good this year however...

State no longer deserves to be in the ACC. They are an irrelevant basketball team at an irrelevant university.

I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem with UNC and Duke being kicked out of the conference for their pathetic annual showing on the gridiron?

Seriously - if State has to justify their pathetic sport's existence on the back of a continuously dissapointing football team, then that is further proof they should be relegated to a Div. II or lower status.

Tractor pulling - well, that's another story, they rule!

Carolina fans are always taking their anger out on State fans. Don't be mad just because Duke owns you.

Well, I guess the NCSU library is being used for the nightly square dance at present. Otherwise, you'd realize Coach K has a losing record versus the 'Heels.

What's more pathetic - that you incorrectly use a Duke stat to justify your horrific team or that you use Duke in the first place??

NO TEAM IN THE ACC HAS A WINNING RECORD VERSUS THE HEELS. Get it right, Farmer John.
