North Carolina junior Ty Lawson has been named the ACC's player of the year, the school announced Tuesday afternoon.
He is the second point guard ever to win the award. Phil Ford of North Carolina was the other, in 1978.
Lawson averaged 15.9 points and led the ACC with 6.5 assists per game. He also has been named District 3 Player of the Year by the United States Basketball Writers Association.

Should've gone to Douglas. He literally carries the 'Noles on his back. Might do more for his team than anyone else in the country, save for Blake Griffin of Oklahoma.
