Michael Jordan visits on Senior Day

CHAPEL HILL —- Sunday was senior day for North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough, Danny Green and others, but the loudest cheer in the Dean Dome came during the first half of what turned out to be a 79-71 win over Duke.

The noise wasn't for anyone wearing a uniform. It was for former UNC star Michael Jordan, who made a rare appearance in the building. Fan cheered wildly when Jordan was introduced during a time out.

Even Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski was happy to see Jordan, saying the two were "unbelievably good friends," no doub through their affiliations with USA Basketball and Nike.

Also in the audience were Charlotte Bobcats coaches Larry Brown and Dave Hanners, plus players Sean May and Raymond Felton. They were joined by Jerry Stackhouse, Kevin Salvadori, Woody Coley and Ged Doughton among several other ex-Tar Heel players. -- Caulton Tudor, (Raleigh) News & Observer
