The ACC Player of the Year won't be announced until roughly 1 p.m. today, but North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson earned another plaudit this morning: District Player of the Year, by the United States Basketball Writer's Association. Teammate Tyler Hansbrough and Duke's Gerald Henderson, who are also in contention for the ACC's award (which is voted on by a different group of media), also made the 10-player team.
Here's the District III team, which includes players from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Maryland:
