Vitale to work Charleston at Davidson

One of college basketball's most recognized voices is coming to Davidson.

Television analyst Dick Vitale will work the Feb. 7 game with the College of Charleston along with play by play announcer Mike Patrick, according to ESPN publicist Michael Humes. Vitale often travels to ACC sites in North Carolina but doesn't often work games that don't involve teams in the BCS conferences.

Game time will be 6 p.m. on ESPN-2. - Ken Tysiac

So does this mean Davidson is getting the college gameday game next weekend?

Maybe the Charlotte Obverser will send an actual staff reporter to cover this game now that someone famous will be in town.

No...Gameday will be in Spokane for Memphis-Gonzaga. You know, a game in which BOTH teams are in the top 25, rather than NONE?
