Seth Curry second-team All-Big South

Seth, who is averaging 20.6 points per game, was named second-team all-Big South and named the league's freshman of the year. Player of the year honors went to Radford center Artsiom Parakhouski.
Winthrop junior Mantoris Robinson was named the league's defensive player of the year. He ranks 17th in rebounding and 15th in blocked shots in the conference and leads Winthrop with 33 steals.

Curry shouldn't have even made 2nd team. He shot 38% from the field and 30% from behind the arc while launching over 150 more shots than anyone else in the conference. Just about anyone can score 20 shooting the ball everytime they touch it.
The only reason Curry made 2nd team is because his name is Curry. All hype, not much game, other than being a ballhog.
That's just stupid. If every player could score 20 points a game, they would.
The dude above me likes to make stats up ... just say you hate Curry and jealous of his entire family ... Seth Curry ranked No. 11 in the Big South in field goal shooting and only one true guard is ranked higher than him ... Curry shot 42 percent from the floor in the regular season, which is not bad for an 18 year old kid with two goons attached at his hip at all times ... and he hit 36 percent from three-point range ... he may have taken more shots than anyone else in the conference, but he also played up to four more games than say a Chavis Holmes ... so more shots are bound to happen when you play more games and play more minutes ... Liberty played five overtime games, four of which were double-overtime ... you can make numbers say anything ... and for being a ball hog, he has two teammates who have over 150 combined three-point buckets ... how you going to slant that state ...
just do us all a favor and admit you wish you had Curry's talent and the open doors he has ... then maybe we can all forget your a hack who was cut from JV and can't sniff third string in intramurals ...
Curry shot 38% in conference games, look it up. Maybe he should have dished the ball more to guys on his team that shot the ball better than that. 30% from three in conference games as well.
The kid is just hype. LU has a poor coach who lets him jack shots every time he touches the ball. The kid just wants attention and gets it, despite being an average player. There are numerous guys who shot the ball much better than him in conference, but they play under a team concept, they could easily average 20 if all they did was think about themselves like Curry does.
But he didn't average 20.6 points in just conference games you tool - he averaged it for ALL games for which he shot 42 and 36 percent.
This article was about the all conference team, not the all regular season team. Regardless, those numbers are just average anyway. He performed worse in conference where he shouldn't have been voted 2nd team.
Remember he played NAIA, D2, and D3 schools in the Out of conference. This team plays an incredibly weak schedule. Those inflate those numbers. He performed average, if not below, in conference games, which is what was being voted on.
To the LU and Curry hater,
1st just admit you hate the school and the kid. It shows.
2nd I don't know what schedule you are looking at but Clemson (which they lost to in the last 2 minutes), George Mason (who they beat), UVA, St. Louis, Depaul, Northern Col, USC Upstate, W&M, ODU. That isn't too weak of a schedule for a mid major that finished .500 last year. Yea they had some cupcakes but what teams don't have cupcakes on there schedule. The schedule is/has been only getting tougher and tougher each year in the past 2 to 3 years.
There RPI was in the 50 / 60 range until they got to the conference games this year. The past years it has been in the 200 /300 and the conference has helped there RPI (that isn't a good thing).
As far as Curry is concerned he didn't hurt LU either, a few of those games LU won because of his clutch shots at the end.
I have nothing against Curry or any school for that matter. That is just an excuse to not look at the numbers and how he performed.
Simply put, the guy is an average player who gets attention b/c of his dad and the fact he launches a million shots a game.
It never ceases to amaze me how people come on here just to lob pretty petty arguements against the Curry boys.
"...he just wants attention..."
- So I assume you've either talked to him at great length or know him personally?
"..average talent..."
- Someone at ESPN or CBS really missed it since many of their analysts love his game, but you seem not to.
"...the kid is just hype."
- Last time I checked, when does "hype" make the ball go in the basket?
I'm not even a Liberty fan necessarily, but it's pretty clear when somebody just plain doesn't like a kid (or his family or brother). If you want to argue his stats, then fine, let that stand on it's own. But your other points (if they can even be called as such) are pretty weak.

Nope, but he tosses up 20-30 shots a game while shooting an average to low percentage. If he was a team player he wouldn't do that.

I don't watch the so called analysts b/c espn is just a hype machine like any other media. They pick a few guys and regardless of performance talk about them. The numbers in this case don't lie. I've seen enough basketball to make my own judgements.
"...the kid is just hype."

In Seth Curry's case, it doesn't. Thanks for proving my point.
I'm not sure why when someone disagrees it has to be b/c the other person has some agenda. I don't care either way about the Curry's or LU. I'm just looking at it objectively and objectively the kid isn't an all conference player.
And objectively you have no idea what you're talking about.
Looks like I did, shot horribly in the tournament and threw up a ton of shots even though he couldn't hit. Again, didn't deserve a spot on the all conference team.
