Lawson: I'll be ready for NCAA

ATLANTA — UNC point guard Ty Lawson, who sat out his second straight game Saturday because of a jammed right big toe, said he will "definitely" be ready to play when his team opens NCAA play — likely as No. 1 seed in Greensboro on Thursday.

"It feels a lot better," said Lawson, who injured the toe seven days ago when he collided with a basket support in practice. "I've been walking in a regular shoe now, and I was shooting today on it; I wasn't really jumping on it. But it's been a lot better in the last few days."

Lawson was in uniform on the bench, again wearing a protective open- toed shoe, during UNC's 73-70 semifinal loss to Florida State in the ACC semifinals. He said it was tough not being able to contribute, "but Florida State knocked down big shots. Even if I was in there, they probably would have knocked down big shots."

After the game, he was icing his foot; when he took it out of the ice bath, his toe appeared not to be discolored or swollen.

Bobby Frasor IS NOT the answer. He plays good defense however he has difficulty bringing the ball up against pressure.

his defense is horrible & he can't shoot-a terrible pressure player-we need lawson back in the worst way

Frasor is a slow sloth and has no business playing big minutes for a final 4 contender/pretender

...and if ROY BOY continues to play him (33 minutes Saturday and contributed ZIPPO)and "Softer than Charmin" Thompson so dammmmm much.......NC WILL LOSE AGAIN.

My prediction Friday night was.... if those 2 play 57 minutes on Saturday like they did on Friday.....NC WILL LOSE to FSU....

They played 55 vs FSU and the rest is history...

Roy does 55+ again THEY WILL LOSE AGAIN....

DAVIS plays 35 minutes on my team....

if Charmin continues to play more minutes than Davis..NC WILL LOSE AGAIN....

Lawson better be back because the Heels are shockingly mediocre without him. The refs virtually gave the VT game to Carolina at the end. He will be missed next year!!!
