It may mean nothing (and probably does), but NBAdraft.net has removed North Carolina freshman Harrison Barnes from its 2011 mock draft and placed him in the 2012 mock draft, where he's listed third behind Duke incoming freshman Austin Rivers and Kentucky incoming freshman Anthony Davis.
Maybe someone knows something. Or maybe not.

This just in: I farted.
Only a fool would abandon Roy Williams now. My cousin shares the same barber as he does and he personally told him that he loves Chapel Hill and Carolina. Classes are easy and girls are hot. He is certainly going to go down as the GREATEST TARHEEL ever to play in Chapel Hill, so he'll be here 4 years, deal with it Dookie Fans
I'm a Tar Heel alum and I'll eat everything in my house and cheer for Duke for the rest of my life if Barnes stays 4 years. That will never ever happen.
..."Classes are easy and girls are hot"...
What? He's not in the pre-Med curriculum??
Don't you mean "...girls are easy and classes are hot".
Yeah - I don't suppose he is in Pre-Med considering he's a freshman. Nice try. Bet his SAT score was higher than yours.
Re: "Classes are easy (at UNC)". What a shock THAT is -- NOT! ;>

Don't you mean "...girls are easy and classes are hot".
Amen!
Anon at 5:25pm sounds like someone who couldn't get accepted.
Rest assured Barnes was never going anywhere but back to Orange County NC next 3 yrs.
Classes are easy at most universities if you're an athlete and major in African Studies, and only plan to stay a year or two.
Anon 6:49,
Clearly you didn't attend UNC-Chapel Hill. All incoming freshman, including student-athletes, are enrolled in the General College their first two years on campus. All students must complete their General College requirements before formally declaring a major. That's right. Barnes is taking the same classes as every other freshman. I am a UNC-CH grad (Class of '91) and took classes alongside football players, basketball players, field hockey players, baseball and softball players when I was a freshman.
7:40, don't know where the hell you're getting your information from, but I've been a student at UNC much more recently than you, and that is ABSOLUTELY not true. You can enroll in as many major classes as you want as long as they don't have prerequisites. In that there's no way Harrison plans to graduate, he's probably seeking as many small, easy classes with "friend of athlete" teachers as he can find.
I'm sure if he would have picked Duke over UNC then he would have been taking non-Euclidean math and advanced nuclear physics his freshman year, right? Give it a rest. From all accounts he is a pretty smart kid and comes from a solid background. Money isn't a pressing need. Maybe he goes, and maybe he stays, but painting all of these guys as idiots who just play basketball is more telling about you than it is them.
Procton, when did Barnes tell you he has no plans to graduate? Since you are all knowing, I guess it is impossible that he might plan to finish later even if he enters the draft, in which case taking a bunch of random classes wouldn't really help him much. When you feel like releasing his class schedule for us, please do so.
It's great they put him *behind* two incoming freshmen ... and one from Dook! Hopefully he's got enough ego that he'll to want to stay and re-arrange that 2012 list by maybe ummmmm beating the pants off the super-frosh twice next year (with the second time in Durham on Senior day) ?? ;)
One of the major reasons Barnes chose to attend North Carolina is the university's highly-ranked undergraduate program offered in business school. While he may leave for the pros and finish his degree over the summers as have many Tar Heel players, he's certainly interested in the academic side of UNC, as well. And LOL at the 'easy' classes remarks. UNC is a rigorous school, particularly once one reaches upper division courses; however, just like most schools, many first-year courses are pretty straightforward. Given his interest in his studies and his stated desire to win a national title at North Carolina, I would not at all be surprised were he to return.
From what I understand, he's also on an accelerated pace to graduate in three years. He's no dummy.
Sure thing 11:39 PM, whatever you say. This joker would have been admitted even if he had never set foot on a basketball court. Scheeze, get over yourself and your fantasy world.
Barnes entered UNC as a Sophomore academically because of his AP credits in High School. Those of you calling out "African American Studies" are not only racists, but complete idiots. If Barnes stays two years and goes to summer school he can graduate.
Methinks I smell an April Fool's joke, people.

Better go check your own mirror punk.
So Barnes was so smart he skipped his UNC freshman year? Real hilarious. He better have 125 credit hrs or he wont graduate. Bottom line.
You all talk about UNC being easy if I recall afew years back ESPN did a syory on DOOK when Jay Williams was an undergraduate about the classes the basketball team were enrolled in all had pretty much the same professors and JW had a independent study Anatomy of the lower leg.
Hey UNC-CHeat -- John Blake says hi!
Both Duke and UNC have high athlete graduation rates-Duke basketball is over 90%, I hear? Try floating that stat in SEC land
10 minutes ago I just saw another draft board on a lil' website called ESPN.com...has Barnes going #3, Henson #11.
Keep dreamin' holes, keep dreamin'!
^ LOL...once again ABC'ers pulling harder against UNC than they can muster for their own team(s)
Chad ford is a below average draft source. Just because it comes from espn.com doesn't mean its the bible. John Henson is a very special defender at the college level, but who in their right mind would pick a guy that at 6'10" barely weighs 200 lbs. He would get owned in the NBA as of right now and anyone that picks him is just getting another Anthony Randolph. Imagine him trying to defend kevin garnett or pau gasol next year. . . henson stays to add weight is the bottom line
I am very happy after reading your post..this is really very interesting post.
Thanks for sharing this blog with us!!
G.O.N.E.
Sorry, holes. I'm offended that you all look out for your rooting baby blue interests and not his. Let the kid make a bajillion bucks. He's ready.
This goes to agfinder Duke has beaten UNC twice in Cameron in the last 6 years. UNC has spoiled quite a few senior days lately in Durham, probably not a good idea to run ur trap. Especially since ur team just lost about 45 points a game to the NBA.
Who cares about dook? When K has a stroke, they will be mediocre once again. Go Cats!
cool Article Thanks a lot for this awesome post.....
