Duke returns to No. 1 in both polls

A six-game winning streak has propelled Duke back to the top of The Associated Press' and the coaches' rankings today.

The Blue Devils (25-2, 12-1 ACC) moved from No. 5 last week to No. 1 after all four teams ranked ahead of them lost in the past seven days.

In The Associated Press' poll, Duke is followed by No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Kansas, No. 4 Pittsburgh and No. 5 Texas.

The coaches' rankings have No. 2 Kansas, No. 3 Ohio State, No. 4 San Diego State and No. 5 Pittsburgh behind Duke.

Duke was ranked No. 1 in the first 10 polls by the coaches and The AP, but dropped after losing Jan. 12 at Florida State.

North Carolina (20-6), which is No. 19 in both polls, is the only other ACC team in the current rankings.

what a joke the polls have become. Despite wins and loses, you are voting for the best "team". That team is not dook, with exactly one win over the top 25. (UNC)

Please. Duke should not apologize for taking on their schedule and beating everybody in front of them. Further, if you don't think that Duke has beaten plenty of solid teams, top-25 or not (MarylandX2, Marquette, K-State in Kansas City, Michigan State, Butler), you haven't been watching much basketball. With four tough games left on the schedule, I hope they'll have a chance to show you that they're more than worthy.

Yo Anonymous, you still f'ed up your "correction".

The defending National Champions and #1 team in the country's name is "Duke", not "dook".

Also I believe "wins and loses" should be "wins and losses"
