Don't forget Kyrie Irving at Duke. #2 rated freshman in the country according to scout.com. Duke is going to be loaded! Good luck to all next year.

I know my Dukies are good, but they can forget another NCAA Championship with only four starters! Think our boy Kyrie Irving was left off the list.....DEVILS!

Looks good to me,but you might as well pencil in the tarholes as finishing 10th again hahahahah.

Thank you for the heads up on the missing starter. It is Irving.

Isn't CJ Leslie a PF? I could see the lineup being Harrow, Wood, Brown, Leslie and Smith.

Kadeem Jack will also be on the Heels' bench! 2 Titles and 3 Final Fours in the past 6 years dookies...

Don't forget NIT runner-up. 1st vs. 67th. Enough said. If those numbers don't mean anything to you, try 82-50.

.."By the way, you read somewhere in March which players would be leaving and which would be staying. You might want to listen to that guy when the Summer Hoops Preview comes out in June"...

Guess you'll never have to worry about being called humble, J.P.

I'm a Carolina fan, but this writer is nuts if he thinks Gonzalez will start over Harrow at NC State.

That Duke lineup looks awfully soft inside. 3 guard lineup?

Plumlee 6'11"
Plumlee 6'10"
Kelly 6'10"
Hairston 6'9"
Singler 6'8"

I think we'll be okay down low.

Ol' Roy might jump off a bridge since the twins bolted. Kerliner is going to be WORSE next year. And the year after. Karma is a real *&%$# isn't it Roy?

To the Presbyerian Fan - relax.

To the previosu two comments before his ignorance - you are both right. The liune-up the writers listed is a little soft, but Duke does have size. Here's what is more practical.

Irving
Smith
Singler
Plumlee
Plumlee

Running Smith (a recruited PG) at the 3-spot is super small even for Coach K. The above, with Curry being a huge spark off the bench, makes more since for the Devils.

I agree with cbills23. Duke will not start a 3 guard lineup. Singler is a 3. He will play the 3 most of his minutes. Having Dawkins and Curry off the pench is a nice scoring option. Curry can play the 1 and Dawkins plays the 2 off the bench. Kelly, Hairston and a JC transfer that is a SF will also play.

This time last year pretty much everybody thought a lineup involving Thomas and Zoubek was "pretty soft"

ACB said...

You are talking about comparing a couple of guards to a PF and a C. Lance Thomas was nothing but toughness - he had no other skill sets to his game. It is completely different. Running singler at the 4-spot with three (essentially) point guards is soft. See the line-up I listed above - that's Duke's best case scenario with Curry and Dawkins providing great sparks off the bench.

Hmmm. Hard to understand why many are so eager to cede next season to Duke. I would think that Va Tech fans in particular would be saying something. Oh well, there's a reason they actually play the games. Does anyone, aside from Heels fans, think that Duke will not repeat as national champs next year? Duke fans, are you officially GUARANTEEING another national title next year?

I just wonder how many dookie fans will still be showing their faces when football season starts. You guys seem to go into hiding when September rolls around.

Carolina will kick dook's butt this year again for number 20 out of the last 21 years. dookies just give up football and stick to hoops and men's lacrosse. That is where you guys make the news.

rather be a lacrosse champion then meaningless nothing in another sport. At least we dont try to act like we are good in football. Besides, we all know whats important in the traingle, thats hoops, not uprights! I also agree the more likely lineup is irving, sinlger, smith, plumlees 1&2. But it is nice to have the option to go to a 3 guard set if needed to, which we might against teams lacking post players. Also if you dont think that Harrow kid wont be starting for state your crazy!

ACC Football Season was cancelled?

UNC-CH fans are now on suicide watch! LOL! Despair and desperation are not mixing well with the usual arrogance.

Anonymous said...

HA! Look at the UNC fans having to revert to Football taunts because they have NOTHING with basketball.. which IS why people support colleges.. at least in North Carolina it is. I am a diehard Duke fan.. but I will honestly tell you I am a diehard DUKE MENS BASKETBALL fan.. I could care less about football.. even the duke football coach and Coach K dont like or care about each other.. because the football coach knows he doesnt matter.

Oh, by the way.. Plumlee/Plumlee all the way! <3

To the duke fans, since Duke is such a great school, I wanted to ask some of the math majors...

Is 5 still greater than 4? Is 130 greater than 99?

Anonymous said...

Okay soooo. maybe you guys have 1 more championship. But lets face it, Coach K has the same number of championships as Roy and Dean combined right now.

And we are the REIGNING champs. so dont talk trash.

By the way, 1 more championship then you guys this decade.

Anonymous said...

To the previous poster:
Your Dook math is way off! One more championship this decade? Let's see, Dook won in 2001 and 2010. That equals 2, if my Carolina math is correct!
Carolina won in 2005 and 2009. That also equals 2.
Now, I might not be a math major, but even when I was in kindergarten, I knew that 2 is equal to 2!
BTW - To the poster who would rather have lacrosse championships, wanted to point out that Dook has none! Carolina has, I believe, 3 National Championships in Men's Lacrosse, although the last one was in '91.
I won't even bother to go into the NC's we have in soccer (women's and men's) and field hockey, since Dook cretins seem to think only basketball counts!

You forgot Carrick Felix coming off the bench for Duke. A 6'6 Junior College transfer that plays SF.

Anonymous said...

well it seems to me that the reason duke fans are making basketball references on this post is because the article is about basketball. the dumb carolina fans seem to wanna bring up football, on a basketball post. the tarheel football fans are almost as annoying as gamecock football fans. talk all this junk when youve never done anything in football. lets keep the comments on here about basketball shall we.

the duke lineup is definetely wrong. its going to be irving, smith singler, and the two plumlees. and the plumlees will destory everybody

Carrick Felix is the kind of athletic freak of nature that we need to finish some of those lobs that will be thrown next year!....If we go with the 3 guard line up, it will give defenses fits if we run and use it as quickness. We couldn't really play a halfcourt game if we start that 3 guard set. If we go big and bring either Irving or Curry off the bench, that will give our second wave of guys almost as much fire power as the starting 5. On the flipside- the 3 guard set couldn't do well if the opposing team had big guards posting them up. So it could go both ways.......Also, Coach K has some good problems to sort through! He has a lot of good players to choose from. There is only 2 things for certain for 2010-2011 Duke Basketball- Nolan Smith will start, and Kyle Singler will start. The rest is all speculation. 50% sure that 1 of the plumlees will start. 45% sure that Seth Curry will play at least 25 min a game. 40% sure that Irving will play at least 20 min a game. And 100% sure that Ryan Kelly is a bum! He wont get too many minutes. Been with Duke since 1987- Robert Brickey is from my hometown! Been with Duke every since! Great year in store again.

Anonymous said...

You also left Tyler Thornton off the list of Duke reserve in addition to Carrick Felixs

Anonymous said...

Is that carolina fan an idiot? 2010 starts a new decade. So like my man said, duke has more championships this decade. 1-0

Anonymous said...

J.T. Terrell will be a starter for Wake Forest

Anonymous said...

Carrick Felix won't be at Duke. He ended up signing with ASU. Its not totally clear if it was academics or a playing time issue - he might have thought Singler wouldn't return.

Tyler Thornton, as was mentioned, has been left off of Duke's list. Frosh reserve point guard.
