Davidson has added a game to its basketball schedule. The Wildcats, who are expected to contend for another Southern Conference title this season, will play Guilford Nov. 14 at 9 p.m. in the Wildcats' Belk Arena. The late start is because the school has a women's volleyball game with Wofford scheduled for 7, creating an athletic doubleheader.
Guilford is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, an NCAA Division III league. The Quakers were 24-5 last season.--STAN OLSON

Yet they couldn't find time in their schedule to play the 49ers?

You ever tried to put together a schedule? Yeah, didn't think so. It's pretty darn difficult.
I'll take the Wooden, the Jimmy V and the Preseason NIT over the Charlotte game anytime.
Davidson would be crazy to pass up that challenge and exposure.

There were opportunities to get that game scheduled. Guess you'll have a half-empty arena for the Guilford game as well, instead of a sellout that you would have gotten with a Charlotte game.
Love that home schedule Kitties!
Shameful. What's next, Berry Academy?
playing a cupcake isn't shameful. SChedule is tough enough. Look at NCAA DI football. it's a payday for Guilford, and our reserves will get some PT. and the 49ers? who gives a flip. no one cares about them.
Yep Guilford gets a payday, likely the only one they'll receive. Davidson probably paid the Quakers the amount of ticket revenue they'll get at that game when they would have kept all the ticket revenue if they played Charlotte.
You'll want that payday after Curry is gone. Face it, no Division I team worth a crap will come to Belk.
I love the Davidson hating that goes on here. And from Charlotte fans mostly.
A local team from a tiny college goes to the Elite 8, you'd think people could get on board...if not for good, at least until the ride slips back into the mid-major abyss.
Instead it's "Wait til that Curry kid leaves" or "Yeah, well your arena is crappy" or "Oh yeah, well you lost to Charlotte last year."
Grow up, children. Go forth and rejoin your respective state school bandwagons -- and their painful message boards. That's what they're for.
