Wake Forest suspends center Woods

Wake Forest junior center Tony Woods has been suspended indefinitely from the men's basketball team, coach Jeff Bzdelik said in a statement Monday, "in order to allow him to devote his time and effort to address the allegations that he is facing."

According to the Winston-Salem Journal, Woods is facing charges resulting from an incident on Labor Day.

Woods is alleged to have kicked and pushed down Courtney Lorel Barbour, with whom he lives. Woods, 20, was charged with three misdemeanors: assault inflicting serious injury, assault on a female and assault inflicting injury in the presence of a child.

According to the Journal, police said that Barbour, the mother of their 1-year-old child, sustained a lumbar spine fracture.

Lumbar spine fracture?

Does that equate to broken back?

Oh my !

The low back officially begins with the lumbar region of the spine directly below the cervical and thoracic regions and directly above the sacrum. A fracture is a break.

If it happened as written, he must be a piece of work. If guilty, throw the key away.

This guy will get a slap on the wrist. What a joke or mockery that the courts will make of this. Seems tham many of these "sports figures" are getting getting away with murder, threats against women, and beating women. Better wake up and remember VTech

Translation to Anon 11:10's post:

Stuff like this happens all the time at Chapel Hill. As a Carolina fan I have had to learn how to ignore this type of behavior and cheer my team's thugs on anyway. Glad to hear that it has happened to another team for a change.
