shocker, unc gets a cupcake.

nice to see duke play a real team.

The real team that dook is playing is the same team that unc has played and beaten in the challenge for the last two years...moron

So, is it at Duke or at Michigan State? Article says one thing, schedule says another. Also, for the "moron" who posted at 10:49... I think Carolina has handed it to MSU enough times over the past 5 years (in this challenge or not), time to go kick someone else's a$$ in this challenge.

as a duke fan im debating on whether i would prefer they play at duke or MSU. the spartys will be a top 5 team so if duke did lose to them at MSU then it wouldnt be a bad loss and would be a great learning experience, playing on the road against a top 5 team. but id also love to see this game in cameron. great atmosphere for a great game.

Observer better check their sources. Michigan State will visit Duke on December 1.

Of course Michigan State will visit Dook. Has Dook ever played an away game in this challenge?

Better yet, does dook ever schedule non-conference road games. No they just schedule "neutral site" games in the Garden or Meadowlands. That's actually a home game for them as most of their grads hail from jersey.

Duh, I believe Duke played at Wisconson last year and at Purdue the year before.

Anonymous said...

@12:47, they didn't schedule those games did they. I was making a more general comment, but that flew right over your head. You must be a dook grad.

hey 10:49 so what your is that dook played cupcake teams this past March....

UNC is now the most corrupt football program in the nation. Congratulations!

@ 12:46... You can't really knock Coach K for avoiding true road games out of conference... it normally doesn't turn out well for them (see @ georgetown last yr and @ michigan 2 yrs ago)... besides, playing any Big East team in MSG is hardly a 'home' game... those games are very 'tournament-like' being at a neutral site.

gotta love all the haters on here. still upset your tarheels couldnt quite pull out the NIT championship while the devils were winning the real trophy!! still hatin. i love it!

What was the last team Duke played on the road in their house & beat that was a top 10 team outside of the ACC?

I don't see how Duke does it year after year after visiting "Cupcake City" so many times! Must be nice playing easy teams.

@1:40

What you're saying is that Duke avoids real competition. Coach K hates to loose, just look at the time he took off the rest of the season to avoid adding to L's to his record. He couldn't make it in the NBA just like most of his so called "great" players who tend to wash out. UNC players get championships on both levels.

@1:46... to answer your question... Dec 08 at Purdue... had to go real far back to find that one. What do you expect them to play 5 top 10 road games a year? Looks like they end up battle tested enough come March.

@1:52

"UNC players get championships on both levels."

Yeah because players like Sean May, Rashad McCands, Brandan Wright, Raymond Felton, etc., etc. are killing it in the NBA right now. Give me a guy like Redick in the NBA who works hard and knows his role any day of the week over those guys.

As usual...uncHOKE will play a nobody to add to their 15 win NIT post season, and duke will play a top 5 team to add to their 30 win and final 4 post season,or might still lose to msu, which will add to duke's top 10 RPI.Either way....duke is the defending national champion while uncHOKE is still....well.....uncHOKE and NIT runner up haha.

UNC had ONE bad season in a five year span where they won TWO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.....I'm thinking uncHOKE (oh how clever I might add) is a little premature shall we say?

Anonymous said...

@2:01

Jordan & Worthy got theirs!

Don't forget Hill (Mr. Injury), Maggette, Brand, Battier, Williams, & such. Wow, where are their championships? The guys from UNC will get one before Redick does for that matter. I guess Redick was working real hard when the coach sat him on the bench in the playoffs. Drafting a Duke player definitely means "No-Championship" anytime soon here!

News flash to all you geniuses who think spelling Duke "Dook" is so clever: Kyrie Irving is going to school Harrison Barnes this season.

Anonymous said...

@ anon 1:46: You said, "What was the last team Duke played on the road in their house & beat that was a top 10 team outside of the ACC?"

Om the road in their house? That would be a very neat trick. I think I'm going to try that one at work. "Hey boss, I'm going to work at home here in the office tomorrow, OK?"

Or if you meant on the road in the opponent's house, that's really redundant redundant. A true UNC-CH education at its finest.

Tarholes like to talk about their NBA stars and how many NBA title they have. Let me ask you girls a question. How many of Roy's guys have won an NBA title? You can even use the players he had at Kansas.

Hmmm, lets see... the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game against Butler who was playing 20 min from their campus seems to come to mind.

Duke's strength of schedule last year was in the top 5 in the country and they took the BELT, but please, keep whining haters!!!

Anonymous said...

Why does the ACC still play this "challenge"? Now that the Big 10 got a win, can we just move onto something else?

Anonymous said...

@djmelod "hey 10:49 so what your is that dook played cupcake teams this past March...."

******************************

Just like a whining carolina fan. They have the worst year ever last year, Duke wins the championship in a nail biting final... and they still find a way to discredit them somehow. Grow up.

All the Dook fans kill me - cant come up with facts so start name calling right off the bat, then conveniently forget you suck in every sport but basketball.

To hear you clowns talk you win every sport every season. You cant even cut it in the NBA - Battier is your BEST player? Give me a break. And Redick? That clown rides the pine in the big games.

Chumps.

suck in everything other than BB?? are you serious? maybe you just are educated about othersports like Lacrosse. Just to update you Duke won a National Championship last year.
At least we wont have our football coach and several of his players doing time as criminals.

One other question for you >>> who has more pro players in the NBA currently UNC or Duke?

Anonymous said...

To answer the last question:
16 current Tar Heels
12 current Blue Devils

And Dook is good in some other sports (they have 12 National Championships), but that doesn't compare to the 37 that UNC has.

Anonymous said...

"12 current Blue Devils"

Grant Hill
Luol Deng
Carlos Boozer
J.J. Redick
Chris Duhon
Shavlik Randolph
Shelden Williams
Dahntay Jones
Corey Maggette
Elton Brand
Mike Dunleavy
Josh McRoberts
Shane Battier
Jon Scheyer*
Brian Zoubek*

That's 15 right there off the top of my head, might have forgotten someone.

And I'd love for you to enlighten us all and list the "16" Tar Heels currently in the NBA...this will be funny.
