Kentucky's Cousins retracts 'not impressed' comment

Kentucky freshman forward Demarcus Cousins has asked for a do-over on his widely reported comment on North Carolina.

Cousins, who earlier had said he was "not impressed" with the 10th-ranked Tar Heels, told the Louisville Courier-Journal he didn't mean it.

“After I saw them play against Michigan State (on Tuesday), I've got a new respect for them,” he said of the Tar Heels. “They're pretty good. They've got good post players, and they're fast.”

The full story is here.

According to this story in the Lexington Herald-Leader, Cousins also said he expected fellow freshman John Wall, from Raleigh, to take his already-accomplished game to "another level" against the Tar Heels.

Kids' judgement never ceases to amaze me. Go get 'em Heels... Of course, I shouldn't be surprised with this from 'Memphis State-Lexington'...

if UK wants to beat the Heels, this better be the year they do it, its gonna be lonely in Lexington next year when they lose 4 starters to the NBA draft. And Cal has nothing on the burner in recruiting yet, he needs to get some more money togther....wait, can I say that out loud?

So nice for the dumb cluck of a guy to notice. People should at least make a game effort to think before they talk -- and coaches should tell their players to do so.

Coach Cal keeps getting job after job, even though rules violations follow him wherever he goes. I think Kentucky needs to win and win now, before the NCAA finds some more rules violations by this guy.
